This simple and panoramic excursion will take us on an easy summit of the Dolomites. Mondeval's top is affordable for anyone, and at the same time it offers us the opportunity to deepen various environmental and historical-anthropological themes. We will start from the Giau Pass, and with a slight uphill pass we will arrive at the Forcella Giau, hence the Mondeval will be visible with its sweet slopes overlooking the Baste Lake. We will hike to the top and then we will descend to see the boulder under which a mesolithic burial was found, witnessing the ancient attendance of these places by hunter-gatherers, before returning to the starting point.

WHY YOU SHOULD DO IT:

Because the views are amazing.
Because you can easily reach the top of a peak.
Because here you can beter understand the evolution of the Dolomites as mountains and of the human evolution in the area.

lunch (we can have lunch together at Giau Pass after the hike or we can arrange a pack-lunch).
